Alex and I Speak of Important Things

I would like to preface this by saying this is exactly how the conversation began. I did no editing.

alexfadeaway: were gonna have 2 suns in 2010
alexfadeaway: 2012

xricketyticketyx: thats when gravitational pulls will fuck up, and then poles will reverse
xricketyticketyx: making the planet switch direction of its rotation
xricketyticketyx: violently
alexfadeaway: well
xricketyticketyx: causing mass destruction and chaos
alexfadeaway: it could be cool

Nadirah and Chelsea Paint

After a long, warm day of walking our asses all over Brooklyn and Brooklyn's Botanical Garden with friends, Nadirah and I decided to spend the evening in. We painted some things that we ended up really enjoying. Nadirah created Shuawna with a few suggestions thrown in by friends, and I created a pyramid home in which the armless strawberry man lives via special request by Nadirah.

I'm a Prism Thief

When we were out and about town in Santa Cruz, Riker asked me what kind of dwarf I was, so of course I said, "I'm a prism thief." That led to this brief tale:

"My name is Rainbow the Sun Dwarf, I'm here to steal your prisms. I keep them in a cave where the sun never sees them. Wait, no! I control the rainbows."

Later that night Asuka and I were drawing and I decided to see what Rainbow the Sun Dwarf looked like, so I drew him. Riker said, "I like his proportions...it's great for scampering. Which he does a lot of." Riker knows a lot about scampering and a lot about Rainbow too.

It's the Little Things

A few weeks ago I was hanging out with Richie and we were out at Columbus Market rooting through toy bins for wonderful treasures. While we were out, Andrew and his co-worker (who I have yet to meet actually) stopped by my house and left me these on the door step!

"Chelsea, Enjoy your free retro pajama set. Andrew & Tim"

I was very excited! Andrew and Tim got me free matching jammy sets from their place of work because I wanted to wear them to some establishment that is said to give away free breakfasts on Saturdays to those who wear matching pajamas in. So, since I didn't even have to pay for the pj's, breakfast will be extra free.

I love little surprises. I like the ones in the middle best.

Nadz, O.M.G.

I have a wonderful friend who is this adorable, beautiful, super-fun girl that I love for many reasons. Some reasons are better than others though. One of my favorite things about her is that she takes the 5 Second Rule to a whole new level. I have three great examples of this:

1.) Very recently a few of us got together to bbq at her house. Somehow the hot dog she was eating was knocked out of her hand and fell hot dog down onto the asphalt pavement she was standing on. She went to pick it up and only got bun, causing the hot dog to roll around on the pavement. Being the badass she is, she did not let this deter her from eating said hot dog. She just picked it up, placed it back in the bun, and ate it. However, afterward she shared with us that she definitely chewed on some rocks. For real.

2.) At one of our parties in our Ocean City apartment, my lovely friend went downstairs to the Chinese food place and got herself some delicious noodles of sorts. She sat on our stairway eating them. The stairway leading to our apartment comes in right off one of Ocean City's most main streets, is carpeted, and often has small pieces of trash, sea gull feathers, and sand laying about. Somehow this girl knocks her noodles over and they spill onto the stairs. Well no use crying over spilled noodles right? So she just scooped them up off the carpet, back into her box, and kept eating. Yes. Way to go, girl.

3.) This story might be the most gnarly of the three. We were partying in West Philly for my birthday and there is a pizza place very close to where we were. Someone let this drunk ass girl carry our pizza and she somehow dropped the pizza causing it to come out of the box and fall cheese side down onto the streets of Filthadelphia. Somehow my girl saves the pizza and puts it back in the box and brings it home anyway. There was all kinds of shit in this pizza man, as you can imagine, and somehow, EVERYONE, not just my girl, ate it anyway. However, if it weren't for her 'it's ok' attitude, that thing would have never been scooped off the streets of Philly and brought home for us to eat.

I feel like a lot of you reading this will think, that's not such a big deal, I would do that, but I think you're all a lot of talk. I too eat things off the floor, maybe the occasional off the lawn, but how many of you would really eat noodles potentially containing sea gull feathers or pizza that was face down on the streets of Philly. Anyway, I really love this about her, and I tried not to use her name in case she cares, but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna post her photo with this, so I guess it doesn't matter. :) xoxo

Greetings From California....

This is a Facebook message I received from my beautiful friend Nicole. She wrote to me because Asuka, Riker, and I are going to visit her and our friend Jess in California for one week:

"warning! we are ca-ray-zay right now! you are coming at the height of the maelstrom! be prepared for a hectic frenzy of our hedonistic witchy ways like you've never seen before."

We are pretty excited to get there. :)

Buttons For You

Tim, Richie, and I made some buttons by collaging some magazines, books, comic books, etc together to form these wonderful items. Richie supplied the button maker as well as all the other button ingredients, which was amazing.

Songs I Just Can't Quit

I am the kind of person who can listen to a song or album I like over and over and over again and pretty much never get tired of it. The only real reason I move on from them is because I find new sets of songs that slowly take their place, and the cycle repeats. They aren't necessarily new songs, just ones I gravitate towards at the time. Below are some links where you can listen to some of my current favorites that I just can't stop jammin to. Hope you enjoy! (Almost all the links are to the website Hype Machine aside from the first one).

The Jackson 5 - "I wanna be where you are"

Royksopp - "Happy Up Here"

Lil Wayne Vs. The Office Theme - Office Music (Clockwork Edit)

Basement Jaxx - "Raindrops"

The Cool Kids - "Bassment Party"

Maritime - "Parade of Punk Rock T-shirts"

Final Fantasy - "What do you think will happen next"

Friendly Fires - "Jump in the pool"
